Publication Ethics

Transcultural Theology and Global South (TTGS) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. This statement is based on the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Duties of Authors
Authors must ensure that their work is original and has not been published or submitted elsewhere. Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given, and all sources should be appropriately cited. Authors must not engage in plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, or redundant publication. Manuscripts should present accurate data and objective discussion. Authorship should be limited to those who have made significant contributions, and all co-authors must approve the final version of the manuscript. Authors must also disclose any conflicts of interest that may influence the results or interpretation.

Duties of Editors
Editors are responsible for determining which manuscripts are suitable for publication based on academic merit, originality, and relevance. Editors must evaluate manuscripts without discrimination and maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts. Unpublished materials disclosed in a submission must not be used for personal research. Editors should respond appropriately to any ethical concerns raised regarding submitted or published papers.

Duties of Reviewers
Reviewers assist editors in making editorial decisions by providing objective, constructive, and timely feedback. They must maintain confidentiality and should not review manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest. Reviewers should identify relevant work that has not been cited and report any suspected ethical issues.

Publication Decisions
The editor has full responsibility and authority to accept or reject a manuscript. Decisions are based on the manuscript’s importance, originality, clarity, and relevance to the journal.

Plagiarism Policy
All submitted manuscripts will be screened using plagiarism detection software. TTGS applies a maximum similarity index of 20%. Manuscripts exceeding this threshold may be rejected or returned for revision.
